RodMer Art Links
Here are some links to art sites on the Web. Of course, there is some danger to pages of links pointing to other pages which inevitably provide more links to other pages of links, etc. -- but despite that warning, here is the beginning of another page of links.

All the art links below will open in a second window --
simply close it when you are finished
Under construction
This page is in process of a major overhaul (isn't the whole Internet?) -- so you may find some broken links (sites keep moving) and certainly some inconsistencies and incompleteness. Hopefully, we'll have a more organized link list completed in about a month.
The Art Links
- Canadian Visual Artists on the Web
- We started and used to operate this site -- but it has now been taken over and professionalized by our friend Barry Octeau
- it's a queriable database where you can see the works of over 1,400 Canadian Visual Artists (including Merike, of course) and link to their own websites
- a few of the top pages are a little out of date -- but Barry assures us that the individual artist entries and the underlying database are completely up to date
- Artists' Den
- A large, growing, and amazingly automated site in New Mexico
- The Goddess in Contemporary Art
- An interesting site by Charna
- the Ontario Society of Artists,
- the Sculptor's Society of Canada,
- the Society of Canadian Artists,
- Women Artists in Canada
- an amazing site put together by a team headed by Pham Van Khanh with financial assistance from Industry Canada (containing 1482 images of 131 artists)
- Art Source
- a collection of British Columbia artists
- Art Vision International
- a growing Internet gallery representing 70 British Columbia artists (and others as well) -- on a commission basis (artists might wish to check this out) -- they have a portfolio of some $3 million of Canadian works displayed
- Art History Research Centre
- Run by Leif Harmsen -- A useful list of search engines, newsgroups, mailing lists, etc -- this will lead you to most things you want to know about art, past and present
- ArtFinder
- A growing and valuable list of Canadian art galleries, presently including BC but eventually to roll east and cover the country
- Louvre Entrance
- A beautiful large photograph (in jpeg format) of the new glass-pyramid entrance to the Louvre (and the entrance to Nicolas Pioch's WebMuseum)
- The Niagara Artists' Company
- one of the oldest artist-run centres in Canada dating from 1969 and now boasting a very impressive web presence)
- @ Gallery in Vancouver
- another artist-run centre
- WebMuseum Artist Index
- List of artists for whom you can look up works to view on your screen, courtesy of WebMuseum (an amazing enterprise created by Nicholas Pioch in Paris without funding and without support). Unlike the Louvre, the WebMuseum images are free. You don't have to buy a ticket.
- The Niagara Artists Company
- An amazing site of one of the oldest artist-run centres in Canada (established 1969) and covering visual, performing, and other artists in the Niagara region with links to other art sites world-wide. Website prepared by photographer/journalist/musician/cyberchicklette Jenn Sheridan.
- ArtNetWeb
- An electronic art gallery of contemporary artists run by New York artist Remo Campopiano (including a 14 image display of Merike's work)
- Canada Net Art Gallery
- A portion of Canada Net Pages (see below as well) run by Online Vision in Richmond, BC
- Harvard Square Art Gallery
- Run by Arun Malik in Cambridge, MA -- this gallery includes a small display of Merike's work
- Internet StudioVisit
- Run by the Ferguson Taylor group in Seattle -- with links to the studios of various contemporary artists
- Art on the Net
- An artists' collective featuring painting, poetry, and music.
- Arts Wire
- A small collection of artists, writers, and musicians.
- Ravenwood Studios Fine Art Gallery
- An art website run out of Santa Barbara by some friends of ours.
- The Federation of Canadian Artists - Calgary Chapter
- a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion and professional develoopment of artists and services for art collectors.
- Art Gallery of the South Okanagan
- A good looking B.C. art gallery whose curator, Robert Boulet, very active in the Canart mailing list (a Canadian discussion group)
