Here is a project that Pierre worked on both as sculptor and mould-maker. He will be extending his line of original sculptures as time permits.

| 1. Sculpting the Eagle | |
|---|---|
![]() | First the eagle has to be sculpted. Here Pierre is working on the original wax maquette of the eagle. A similar process was, of course, involved in sculpting the tree-like base that the eagle stands on. |

| 2. Moulding the base | |
![]() | Here the mould for the eagle base can be seen in pieces -- both the hard outer shell of the mould (white) and the interior rubber "skin" which captures all the details of the original sculpture. Moulding this base is particularly challenging as there are so many different sections to the branching tree-like base and many "under-cuts" requiring the mould to be in multiple pieces (not simply a left and right half that fit together simply). A mould must be similarly made for the eagle itself. The stages of the moulding process are described more fully on the page dealing with the LION TABLE project. |

| 3. The finished "EAGLE" | |
![]() | Here is one view of the finished EAGLE after casting, demoulding, assembling with its base, and painting. We are looking down on it as it perches on its stand in the middle of the Cobourg beach. |
![]() | Here you can see the intricacies of the base a little more clearly -- as well as a dramatic profile of the EAGLE against a backdrop of Lake Ontario. |
![]() | Here is yet one further perspective of the EAGLE. It looks as if it is just about to take off. |
