    Towards the writing life

    Early Background

    Earliest published poem was in school magazine at age 11 (it was awful!).
    Five years later was the editor of that magazine (the Record at Trinity College School)
    At university had poems published in the Trinity Review . In 1956 was co-editor of the Trinity Review

    The other type of writing

    Co-author of Analytical Auditing (Pitman, Toronto, 1966)
    describing a systems-based approach to auditing (published also in French, Spanish, Portuguese, and Danish translations)
    Author of The External Audit (Pitman, Toronto, 1977)
    a 2-volume general auditing text widely used in Canada in the 1980s
    Co-author of Dollar-Unit Sampling (Copp Clark, Toronto, 1979)
    a text on statistical sampling for auditors (won the Gold Medal of the American Accounting Association)
    Numerous articles in professional journals (1960 to 1983)

    Change of career

    Left the professional world in 1983 to spend full time writing poetry, short stories, opera librettit, reviews, etc.
